Groups of students ages 4–6 meet virtually with materials that parents receive from UnoDosTres in order to help their children prepare for and participate during our classes. At this age students are capable of acquiring new languages very quickly.

Elementary Grades 1-5

Mixed-age groups learn and interact together in an active way. At the beginning of each class, students start with a short writing assignment to help them recognize the Spanish alphabet. GRUPO classes allow students to learn from each other regardless of their age. During each class we sing, move, read and PLAY.

Middle schooler going to school

Middle/High School

HS 1 is equivalent to a high-school Spanish I course. This course introduces the fundamentals of Spanish. Students build familiarity and facility with Spanish, in basic grammar, foundational verbs, and beginning vocabulary. Students are also exposed to Spanish and Latino cultures through lessons on Spanish-speaking countries.

HS 2 is equivalent to a high-school Spanish II course. Students deepen their understanding and use of the language, and continue to learn about many aspects of Spanish and Latino culture. In addition to formal instruction, students will read short passages to build new vocabulary and comfort with Spanish.

Adults learning

Adult

ADULT BEGINNER 1 (A1) Our Beginner 1 class introduces Spanish grammar and vocabulary, which adults can use at work or in basic conversations. Students also take advantage of readings, video, and audio resources during classes. This course is appropriate for adults who have never taken a Spanish class, or those who took basic Spanish in the past but have not used it for some time.

ADULT INTERMEDIATE (A2) Our A2 Intermediate Spanish class is appropriate for students who have completed A1 (above), or those who are confident with their basic Spanish skills. At this level, classes are structured thematically so students learn the ways Spanish speakers actually converse. For example, topics in class might include students’ professions, current events, music, or other themes of interest to each group of students.

ADULT CONVERSATION Our Conversational Spanish class is appropriate for advanced adult students wanting to practice their Spanish conversation skills. During class we discuss recent topics, movies, books, and students’ experiences. This is an Immersion class, conducted entirely in Spanish.

All Adult Classes include access to a virtual classroom. The virtual classroom includes extended assignments for students who want additional challenge, as well as additional resources.

TESTIMONIAL

Daniela is very attentive, has a wealth of experience, very knowledgeable and an extremely prepared teacher! On our very first lesson, she was able to keep my son engaged, through songs and games the entire time. By the second lesson, Daniela had an understanding of what lesson she needed to prepare to help my son. She also made him a booklet with pictures and words they went over in “class”. By the third lesson, he was speaking and recognizing words! All of this combined gave my son confidence and eager to return for his weekly lessons. While we still have a way to go before being fluent I have complete confidence under Daniela’s instruction he’ll be speaking Spanish in no time!!
